High-end single vision lenses

There is a high-end lens technology called free-form lens (also called digital surfacing). It was first applied to progressive lens, then applied to high-end single vision lens. Free form design can allow engineer to fine tune a lens surface based on the personalized data. It made a pair of lens completely tailor for your eye and eyeglasses. Vision carify and distortion control can be greatly improved.

Problems with conventional single vision lenses

Conventional lens designs are based on common eyeglass fitting parameters such as wrap angle, tilt angle and vertex distance.

If your eyeglass fitting is exactly the same as the lens design's common fitting parameters, you can have very good vision. This is not usually the case.

Lens preset wearing parameters

Wrap Angle (mirror curvature): 1˚

Tilt Angle: 8˚

Vertex Distance: 12 mm

(For all lenses, the requirements for pupil distance and pupil height are: "must be aligned", no need to mention it in particular)

personalize lens

Freeform lenses allow the engineer to customize the lens design for vertex distance, tilt angle, and wrap angle, making the lenses completely personalized and providing the wearer with the best quality vision.Alignment of lens

Each brand has its own freeform lenses. For example: Tokai's CVF, Nikon's SEEMAX INFINITE (8-axis), Hoya's Nulux V+......

What they all have in common is that they are so expensive 🥺.

In addition, high-end lenses require good eyewear. The glasses should be able to hold the lenses in a good position.
